Vancouver, B.C. (October 11, 2012) – A growing majority of British Columbians is opposed to the Enbridge proposal to transport crude oil through B.C.’s inside coastal waters.

Opposition to Enbridge supertanker proposal

A strong majority of B.C. residents is aware of the Enbridge proposal to transport crude oil from Alberta through B.C.’s inside coastal waters to refineries in Asia (87% up from 78% in March). According to the most recent poll by Justason Market Intelligence,  71% of B.C. residents (up from 66% in March) oppose this plan, including 57% (up from 50%) who strongly oppose. Twenty percent support the proposal including 8% who strongly support (compared to 22% support in March).

These are the findings of a Justason Market Intelligence telephone-online hybrid poll of 539 adult British Columbians. The research relied on a random telephone sample and Justason’s online panel.
