2011-10-24
Vancouver, BC (Oct 24, 2011) – An October survey by Justason Market Intelligence (JMI) finds that a strong majority of Vancouver residents approve of their municipal government for taking care of basics like garbage and street cleaning (83%) and making Vancouver more environmentally conscious (77%).
For reducing street homelessness, considering needs of all residents, improving the Downtown Eastside and consulting the public on neighbourhood issues just over half of residents approve (56-57%).
The question: Do you approve or disapprove of the performance of Vancouver’s municipal government for __________.
For most attributes, these approval ratings represent an improvement since July, when levels dipped meaningfully. The greatest increases since tracking began have been for consulting with the local business community (18 percentage points since November 2010) and consulting with public on neighbourhood issues (11 percentage points since July 2010).
