Vancouver B.C. (28 Apr 2014) \u2013 With cuts to programs, extracurricular activities and jobs on the table, sixty-eight per cent of residents support increasing the provincial debt to support education. Twenty-one per cent of residents believe the Vancouver School Board must reduce costs to match its funding, even at the expense of education programs.<\/p>\n

As you may be aware, the Vancouver School Board has announced it is facing a $12 million funding shortfall for the 2014-15 school year. The board  is considering introducing a one-week closure in November and cuts to music and athletic programs. Which of these views about provincial funding of public education is closer to your own?<\/em><\/strong><\/address>\n

The Vancouver School Board must find a way to reduce its costs to match provincial education funding, even if it means cuts to education programs.<\/em><\/p>\n

It’s time for the provincial government to dedicate more resources to education even if this means increasing the provincial debt.<\/em><\/p>\n
