A strong majority of B.C. residents is now aware of Enbridge’s proposal to transport crude oil from Alberta through B.C.’s inside coastal waters to refineries in Asia\u00a0(88%). This awareness level is unchanged following an increase between March and October 2012 (78% to 87%).<\/p>\n
One-in-two B.C. residents “strongly” oppose Enbridge plans<\/b><\/h5>\n
Justason’s pollsters found that 67% of B.C. residents\u00a0oppose<\/strong> this plan, including 51% strongly opposed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Twenty-four per cent (24% up within margin of error from 20% in October)\u00a0support<\/strong> the proposal including 9% who\u00a0strongly support<\/strong>.<\/p>\n To a lesser degree, a majority opposes Kinder Morgan’s plan to twin the Trans-Mountain pipeline and increase B.C. coastal tanker traffic. Fifty-seven per cent (57%) oppose<\/strong> including 38% of B.C. residents who strongly oppose<\/strong>.
